Net Migration Falls

The Office for National Statistics has confirmed that net migration is at its lowest level for three years citing the uncertainty surrounding Brexit as one of the principle reasons.

Research by KPMG has also found that 49% of EU workers currently in the UK with postgraduate degrees and 55% of those with PhD’s were considering leaving the UK following Brexit. 9% of those surveyed said that they felt “less welcome and valued”.

Employers with a high proportion of postgraduate EU nationals working in the UK may need to take steps to ensure that they do not suffer skills shortages in the run up to, and post, Brexit.
