Employment Tribunal Litigation Increases

Acas, the Government funded service that claimants must refer to before bringing an employment tribunal claim, has published statistics on its early conciliation (EC) service from April to June 2018. This shows the total number of EC notifications received increased by 53% year on year and that there was an increase in the proportion of EC cases which developed into an employment tribunal claim, up to 23% from 17% in the same quarter for 2017. This ties in with the previously reported nationwide growth in employment tribunal claims.

Brooks & Partners' employment department provides comprehensive advice to employers and employees seeking to avoid claims and resolve difficulties and disputes, as well as to claimants and respondents in tribunal proceedings.
