Gender Pay Gap Regulations

The draft Equality Act (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations have been substantially amended and the revised regulations are expected to come into force on 6th April 2017 (subject to Parliamentary approval).

It affects businesses with 250 or more employees and ‘employee’ includes workers such as those employed on zero hours contracts.

There are revised rules on how employers must calculate pay and they must report on employees in equal quartile pay bands.

Adjustments can be made for maternity pay, sick pay and other leave which would otherwise skew the figures.
