Richard Whittington joined Brooks and Partners as Head of The Family Department in July 2015 after many years working in the Surrey/Hampshire borders.
Richard is an experienced Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, having qualified on 18th August 1978 and has practised in the area of Family Law for over 30 years.
He specialises in all areas of Family Law including Divorce, Finances, Cohabitation, Separation, Civil Partnerships, Pre Nuptial and Post Nuptial Agreements and represents Parents and Grandparents in Children proceedings.
Richard is also a Family Mediator and, having qualified in May 1996, helps both parties resolve issues between them without the need to issue proceedings. He is also qualified to see children to assist parents in reaching an agreement.
Richard is also a Member of Resolution and is committed to helping clients resolve matters in a constructive and non confrontational way. He has a friendly and pragmatic approach and puts clients at ease in what is often a stressful and traumatic time.
He is married and in his spare time enjoys many sports including football and cricket and is Vice-Chairman and Secretary at Fleet Town Football Club. He also enjoys travelling and the theatre.
